Regenerative braking paddle shifters

Two paddle shifters control the intensity of ELEXIO’s regenerative braking system. Here’s how it works: when using the brakes to slow down or stop, energy flows from the car’s wheels to the battery. This energy, which otherwise would have been lost as heat, is then stored in the battery and can be used to help propel the car when it starts moving again. The result? Extended range.

Safety made simple.

ELEXIO comes equipped with a range of highly advanced yet easy-to-use safety features, each designed to help ensure the well-being of you and your loved ones.

Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist (BCA)

Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist (BCA)

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) uses rear radar sensors to help monitor vehicles in your rear blind spots, and if detected, will issue warnings with audible alerts and haptic steering wheel vibrations.[P7]

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

When driving above a certain speed, if you start leaving a lane without using your turn signal, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) is designed to alert you and help steer to keep the car centred.[P7]

Safe Exit Warning (SEA)

Safe Exit Warning (SEA)

If the vehicle is stationary and a passenger opens their door while a vehicle is approaching from the rear, Safe Exit Assist (SEA) is designed to activate an alert to help prevent a collision. And not only that, if the same scenario occurs while the electronic child safety lock button is in the LOCK position, SEA is designed to prevent the door from opening in the first place.[P7]

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 (FCA 2.0)

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 (FCA 2.0)

While driving, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 (FCA 2.0) helps avoid frontal collisions by providing alerts and steering wheel vibrations if there is a risk of coming into contact with, for example, a vehicle, powered two-wheeler, pedestrian or cyclist, and, if that risk increases, will assist with braking.[P7]

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)

This system monitors the opening and closing of the KONA Electric’s rear doors, to help make sure nothing and no one is accidentally left behind inside. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a “check rear seats” alert message in the instrument cluster.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision – Avoidance Assist (RCCA)

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision – Avoidance Assist (RCCA)

When backing out from a parking spot, RCCA detects vehicles approaching from the left or right. The sensor will issue an audible alert and visual warning on the dashboard and, if necessary, will initiate a braking manoeuvre.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

Driver Attention Warning (DAW) analyses your driving behaviours over time. If it notices signs of fatigue or recognises you've been driving continuously for an extended period, pop-up messages and audible warnings will suggest you take a break.

Surround View Monitor (SVM) with 3D view function

Surround View Monitor (SVM) with 3D view function

This multi-camera parking safety system generates a 360-degree bird's eye view around your KONA Electric from various viewpoints including top, front, rear, left and right, displaying them on your 12.3" multimedia touchscreen to assist you in successfully manoeuvring tight parking situations.

  • Q What is the total cost of ownership for the ELEXIO EV SUV?

Ownership costs vary greatly due to a number of factors, such as fluctuating running costs, servicing fees and purchase prices, all of which can differ from state to state and across territories. However, there are a number of potential cost-saving benefits to owning an ELEXIO EV, from government incentives to cheaper maintenance. View EV ownership benefits.
